At The Martin Wilson School, safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all our pupils is our highest priority. We are fully committed to ensuring that consistent and effective safeguarding procedures are in place to support families, children, and staff at our school.
We expect all members of our school community to share this commitment.
Our Safeguarding Commitment
- We provide a safe and secure environment for all pupils, staff, and visitors.
- We actively promote the welfare and well-being of our pupils.
- All staff and volunteers receive regular safeguarding training and know how to report concerns.
- Our safeguarding policies and procedures are in line with the latest statutory guidance, including Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE).
- We work closely with parents, carers, and outside agencies to safeguard children.
Concerned about a child?
- If you suspect that a child, young person or vulnerable adult is experiencing abuse or is at risk of being harmed, it's vital that you report it.
- Your initial reaction may be to dismiss it and just hope it’s not true. But it’s essential that you report your concerns if you feel a child may be suffering. If you don’t report your concerns, it could mean that the harm will continue.
- Whether you are the child’s Parent Carer, relative, family friend, neighbour or a professional, don’t let anything stop you from protecting a child or young person. Safeguarding is everyone’s business.
How do I report a concern?
If you think a child or young person is being harmed or at risk of being harmed you can contact the school and speak to a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL):
- DSL: Mr Purslow
