1. Revision of Calculation – Using knowledge of four operations to carry out a range of calculations and solve problems

Evolution and Inheritance
1. To undersatnd that living things have changed over time and that fossils provide information about living things that inhabited the Earth millions of years ago.
2. To recognise that living things produce offspring of the same kind, but normally offspring vary and are not identical to their parents.
3. To be able to identify how animals and plants are adapted to suit their environment in different ways and that adaptation may lead to evolution.
Geography:
South America
1. To use maps, atlases and globes to locate the Amazon River and rainforest
2. To relate locational knowledge to prior knowledge about climate zones, rivers, rainforests and the Americas
3. To be able to locate key settlements in the Amazon Basin (Manaus)
4. Understand how the Amazon rainforest is shrinking, the reasons for this and what the environmental impact of this is/could be.
